Come Sail away with me
on my Magical Journey
Alice Morse - Artist & Teacher
I attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where they equip students to turn their artistic talents into a profession. However, as life often does, it led me down a different path. I got married, started a family, and continued my creative pursuits by designing Christmas circulars, layouts, logos, and fashion art for prominent companies. But the demands of art production, along with the constant back-and-forth of pick-ups and deliveries, became overwhelming.
It was during this time that a neighbor introduced me to real estate, promising that I could channel my creativity into designing homes for clients. But, as fate would have it, life’s pace never allowed for that dream to fully materialize.
Eventually, I felt a deep need to reconnect with my art. With the unwavering support of three close friends, I embarked on a new chapter, rediscovering the joy that art brings to my life. Now, I hope to inspire others to find the same fulfillment in the world of art that I have found.
Two quotes guide my journey: the Serenity Prayer—"God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference"—and Will Rogers’ words, "I never met a man I didn’t like, respect, or admire." These principles continue to shape both my life and my art.
